Handheld Desserts and Dessert Table Displays

There’s something about a good dessert table. Whether it’s covered in cake or piled high with pies (just the thought of flaky, buttery crusts sends me straight back to the holiday season of the past several weeks!), this table is one of my favorite places to learn a little bit more about the bride and groom and their preferences and style. Does the bride like chocolate? Is the groom more about trendy desserts or comforting classics? We ate cupcakes at my wedding – in five different flavors and an amount that guaranteed we’d have leftovers. Because that’s the real reason I planned a wedding: cake for days.

Lately I’m loving dessert tables on a smaller scale. Not the amount of food – just the size of it! Handheld pies, donut towers, cake pops and s’mores bars, they can all come together on the same table to make a fun, unique display that looks almost as good as it tastes and lets your guests wander freely with dessert in hand. From details to big-picture (and by that I mean artful piles of foodie-loving beauty), these displays do a lot for sweet teeth and aesthetics alike.

These mini pies are so much fun – and perfect for a rustic wedding summer or winter!

I cannot get over this donut tower. First of all, amazing. Second, who needs cake when you can have cake donuts? Just a thought.

I love the variety in this last display. Cake, cake pops, candy, macarons, cupcakes and chocolate bars! So many options, so little reception time.
