Fall Bridal Cover-Ups

bridal lace bolero

As we venture into fall, strapless gowns start to get a little chilly.  Time for some chic bridal cover-ups!  From boleros to wraps we’ve got some pretty cute toppers to show you.  Granted, none of these are rated for snow. But they will manage to make the trip from the car to the chapel a little warmer.

Your bridal cover-up should complement the style of your wedding dress. If your dress is traditional and romantic, why not try a simple lace bolero (above)?  A bolero is especially pretty with square and sweetheart necklines, and is also something you can wear again with other cocktail dresses.

Prefer something you can just carry with you and use when you are outside?  This lovely ballerina-inspired wrap sweater (below, right) is sweet and soft. Plus, it will come in handy on your ski resort honeymoon as you are warming up by the fireplace!

If you want a little more overall coverage, wear a lace overlay with your sleeveless dress. Above, this blush lace overlay looks like it came with this gown. Below, this sheer cover-up gives the same draped neckline as a pashmina would, but more tailored and with sleeves.

Do you plan on bringing all out glam to your wedding?  Then you must sport a feathered wrap. Both of these fluffy, textured wraps are a little over-the-top, but when else are you going to have the chance to be this much of a showstopper?  These flow seamlessly with fit-and-flare and sheath gowns.

Want a unique topper to jazz up an otherwise plain dress?  Find one with a textured element, such as this sheer scarf with rows of white rosettes (below).

Going a little bit boho?  Keep your cover-ups in natural shades and not too structured (a bolero jacket would not fit in here). This beige wrap with slightly metallic flowers adds the perfect amount of glow to this simple dress (above, left). And this lace capelet could be worn by both brides and bridesmaids, as it would go well with a wide variety of dress styles.

Are you taking boho to a whole new level?  Then you really should check out this amazing velvet robe to wear over your column dress.  It’s dramatic and ethereal and is guaranteed to keep you warm with compliments all night.
